It is the sequel to 2007's Transformers, which was the first live action Transformers film. Michael Bay and Steven Spielberg return respectively as director and executive producer, while Shia LaBeouf reprises the role of Sam Witwicky, the human caught in the war between Autobots and Decepticons. The film introduces many more robots and the scope has been expanded to numerous countries, the most important of which is Egypt.
The main hurdle in getting the film produced was overcoming the 2007–2008 Writers Guild of America strike, as well as possible strikes by the Directors Guild of America and the Screen Actors Guild. Bay met his shooting date with the help of previsualization and a scriptment by his writers Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman, and series newcomer Ehren Kruger. Shooting from May to November 2008 predominantly took place in the United States, including the majority of scenes set in outside countries, a minimum of which was conducted in those actual nations.

Cast

Shia LaBeouf plays Sam Witwicky, the teenager who killed Megatron. He attends an East Coast college to learn astronomy. On July 27, 2008, LaBeouf was involved in a car crash and had to undergo hand surgery. The character getting burned in the story was an unrelated decision. LaBeouf said production was only delayed by two days after his accident because Bay made up for it by filming second unit scenes, and he recovered from the accident a few weeks earlier than expected, allowing him to return to the set. Bay had suggested the hand injury will be written into the story, but Orci said on-set rewrites were done to protect his hand for the remainder of the shoot. Towards the end of filming though, LaBeouf injured his eye when he hit a prop, which required seven stitches. He resumed filming two hours later.

Megan Fox plays Mikaela Banes, Sam's girlfriend, who cannot afford to attend college with him. Fox had lost a lot of weight for her role in Jennifer's Body, and had to gain ten pounds within three weeks. She explained "Michael [Bay] doesn't like skinny girls."

Josh Duhamel plays Captain William Lennox, an ally of the Autobots. Since the first film Lennox has become part of an international taskforce battling Decepticons with the Autobots.

Tyrese Gibson plays Robert Epps, an ally of the Autobots and member of Lennox's team. He has been promoted to the rank of Master Sergeant.[30]

Isabel Lucas plays Alice, a new character who goes to Sam's college. The character was heavily rumored to be a Pretender (a robot able to mimic an organic form). The presence of the technology in the film was confirmed by Orci, while not saying who would be the Pretender.

John Turturro plays Reggie Simmons, former agent of the terminated Sector 7 unit, which monitored Transformer activity on Earth. Turturro was allowed to climb the real pyramids during filming.

Matthew Marsden plays Graham, a member of the United Kingdom Special Forces who joins Lennox's team. Marsden grew up reading the comic book and loved the first film. Bay was impressed with his audition and decided to increase the character's screentime.

Eagle Eye

Eagle Eye is a 2008 action/thriller film directed by D.J. Caruso and starring Shia LaBeouf and Michelle Monaghan. The two portray a young man and a single mother who are brought together and coerced by an anonymous caller into carrying out a plan by a possible terrorist organization. The film has been released in regular 35mm theaters and IMAX theaters. The film grossed more than $170 million worldwide.

Production

Screenwriter Dan McDermott wrote the original script for Eagle Eye based on an original idea by Steven Spielberg who had been inspired by Isaac Asimov's sci-fi novel All the Troubles of the World. The studio DreamWorks then bought McDermott's script and set up the project to potentially be directed by Spielberg. When the director became busy with Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, he dropped out of the project. Director D.J. Caruso, who directed the 1996 TV series High Incident under Spielberg's executive production, replaced the director in helming Eagle Eye. However, Spielberg remains executive producer. In June 2007, actor LaBeouf who was involved in Spielberg's and Caruso's 2007 film Disturbia and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, re-joined the director and executive producer to star as the lead in Eagle Eye. McDermott's script was rewritten by screenwriters John Glenn, Travis Wright, and Hillary Seitz in preparation for production. Filming began on November 6, 2007 and wrapped in February 2008. The film's visual effects were created by Sony Pictures Imageworks.

The story was originally conceived in 1996, Caruso said by the time the film came to fruition twelve years later, "the technology had finally caught up to the storytelling... Everybody has a BlackBerry or an iPhone on their belt, and we think we're constantly being tracked. It's less science fiction than when Steven (Spielberg) conceived it."Caruso wanted to bring a gritty, 1970s-era sensibility to the film. Accordingly, a key chase scene in a high-tech package-processing hub on conveyor belts was shot without the use of computer-generated imagery. "It was like Chutes and Ladders for adults. It was pretty dangerous, and a lot of fun." While filming the scene, Monaghan suffered a welt after a cable brushed her neck and Caruso hit his head on a protruding bolt, requiring stitches.

Cast

Shia LaBeouf as Jerry Shaw / Ethan Shaw, a young slacker framed as a terrorist; and as his late twin Ethan Shaw, USAF officer.

Michelle Monaghan as Rachel Holloman, A single mother, also framed as a terrorist.

Billy Bob Thornton as Thomas Morgan, the patriotic and relentless leader of an FBI team tracking the cell.

Rosario Dawson as Zoe Perez, a government agent tracking the terrorist cell.

Michael Chiklis as George Callister, the US Secretary of Defense.

Ethan Embry as Toby Grant, Morgan's companion whom he assists in tracking the cell.

Anthony Mackie as Major William Bowman, a soldier assigned to monitor the supercomputer.

Cameron Boyce as Sam Holloman, Rachel's musically-gifted son.

Julianne Moore (uncredited) as the voice of Ariia, a top-secret supercomputer bent on destroying the executive branch, believing it is a threat to the nation.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is a 2008 adventure film. It is the fourth film in the Indiana Jones franchise, created by George Lucas and directed by Steven Spielberg. Released nineteen years after Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, the film acknowledges its star Harrison Ford's age by setting itself in 1957. It pays tribute to the science fiction B-movies of the era, pitting Indiana Jones against Soviet agents – led by Irina Spalko (Cate Blanchett) – for a psychic alien crystal skull. Indiana is aided by his former lover Marion Ravenwood (Karen Allen) and their son Mutt Williams (Shia LaBeouf). Ray Winstone, John Hurt, and Jim Broadbent are also part of the supporting cast.
The film languished in development hell because Spielberg and Ford disagreed over Lucas' original concept, which featured a more overt focus on aliens. Screenwriters Jeb Stuart, Jeffrey Boam, Frank Darabont, and Jeff Nathanson wrote drafts, before David Koepp's script satisfied all three men. Shooting began on June 18, 2007, and took place in various locations: New Mexico; New Haven, Connecticut; Hawaii; Fresno, California; and on soundstages in Los Angeles. To keep aesthetic continuity with the previous films, the crew relied on traditional stunt work instead of computer-generated stunt doubles, and cinematographer Janusz Kamiński studied Douglas Slocombe's style from the previous films.

Marketing relied heavily on the public's nostalgia for the series, with products taking inspiration from all four films. Anticipation for the film was heightened by secrecy, which resulted in a legal dispute over an extra violating his non-disclosure agreement and the arrest of another man for stealing a computer containing various documents related to the production. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was released worldwide on May 22, 2008, and was a financial success, grossing over $786 million worldwide, becoming the second highest grossing film of 2008. The film received generally positive reviews, as well as mixed reactions from fans.

Cast

Harrison Ford reprises the role of Dr. Henry "Indiana" Jones, Jr. To prepare for the role, the 64-year-old Ford spent three hours a day at a gym, practiced with the bullwhip for two weeks,[1] and relied on a high-protein diet of fish and vegetables.[2] Ford had kept fit during the series' hiatus anyway, as he hoped for another film.[3] He performed many of his own stunts because stunt technology had become safer since 1989, and he also felt it improved his performance.[4] He argued, "The appeal of Indiana Jones isn't his youth but his imagination, his resourcefulness. His physicality is a big part of it, especially the way he gets out of tight situations. But it's not all hitting people and falling from high places. My ambition in action is to have the audience look straight in the face of character and not at the back of a capable stuntman's head. I hope to continue that no matter how old I get."[5]

Ford felt his return would also help American culture be less paranoid about aging (he refused to dye his hair for the role), because of the film's family appeal: "This is a movie which is geared not to [the young] segment of the demographic, an age-defined segment [...] We've got a great shot at breaking the movie demographic constraints."[4] He told Koepp to add more references to his age in the script.[6] Spielberg said Ford was not too old to play Indiana: "When a guy gets to be that age and he still packs the same punch, and he still runs just as fast and climbs just as high, he's gonna be breathing a little heavier at the end of the set piece. And I felt, 'Let's have some fun with that. Let's not hide that.'"[7] Spielberg recalled the line in Raiders, "It's not the years, it's the mileage",[7] and felt he could not tell the difference between Ford during the shoots for Last Crusade and Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.[8]

Shia LaBeouf plays Henry "Mutt Williams" Jones III, a motorcycle-riding greaser and Indiana's sidekick and son. The concept of Indiana Jones having offspring was introduced in The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles, in which Old Indy is shown to have a daughter. During development of Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, this idea was incorporated into Frank Darabont's script, with Indiana and Marion having a 13-year-old daughter. However, Spielberg found this too similar to The Lost World: Jurassic Park, so a son was created instead. Koepp credited the character's creation to Jeff Nathanson and Lucas. Koepp wanted to make Mutt into a nerd, but Lucas refused, explaining he had to resemble Marlon Brando in The Wild One; "he needs to be what Indiana Jones' father thought of [him] – the curse returns in the form of his own son – he's everything a father can't stand".

LaBeouf was Spielberg's first choice for the role, having been impressed by his performance in Holes. Excited at the prospect of being in an Indiana Jones film, LaBeouf signed on without reading the script and did not know what character he would play. He worked out and gained fifteen pounds of muscle for the role, and also repeatedly watched the other films to get into character. LaBeouf also watched Blackboard Jungle, Rebel Without a Cause and The Wild One to get into his character's mindset, copying mannerisms and words from characters in those films, such as the use of a switchblade as a weapon. Lucas also consulted on the greaser look, joking that LaBeouf was "sent to the American Graffiti school of greaserland". LaBeouf pulled his rotator cuff when filming his duel with Spalko, which was his first injury in his career. The injury got worse throughout filming until he pulled his groin.

Cate Blanchett plays the villainous Soviet agent Irina Spalko. Screenwriter David Koepp created the character. Frank Marshall said Spalko continued the tradition of Indiana having a love-hate relationship "with every woman he ever comes in contact with". Blanchett had wanted to play a villain for a "couple of years", and enjoyed being part of the Indiana Jones legacy as she loved the previous films. Spielberg praised Blanchett as a "master of disguise", and considers her his favorite Indiana Jones villain for coming up with much of Spalko's characteristics. Spalko's bob cut was her idea, with the character's stern looks and behaviour recalling Rosa Klebb in From Russia with Love. Blanchett learned to fence for the character, but during filming, Spielberg decided to give Spalko "karate chop" skills. LaBeouf recalled Blanchett was elusive on set, and Ford was surprised when he met her on set outside of costume. He noted, "There's no aspect of her behavior that was not consistent with this bizarre person she's playing."

Transformers

Transformers is a 2007 live-action film adaptation of the Transformers franchise, directed by Michael Bay and written by Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman. It stars Shia LaBeouf as Sam Witwicky, a teenager involved in a war between the heroic Autobots and the evil Decepticons, two factions of alien robots who can disguise themselves by transforming into everyday machinery. The Decepticons desire control of the All Spark, the object that created their robotic race, with the intention of using it to build an army by giving life to the machines of Earth. Megan Fox, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, Jon Voight and John Turturro also star, while Peter Cullen and Hugo Weaving provide the voices of Optimus Prime and Megatron respectively.
Producers Don Murphy and Tom DeSanto developed the project in 2003, with a treatment written by DeSanto. Executive producer Steven Spielberg came on board the following year, and hired Orci, Kurtzman and Bay for the project in 2005. The filmmakers wanted a realistic depiction of the story, and created a complex design aesthetic for the robots to stress their alien nature. The computer-generated characters were programmed to have thousands of mechanical pieces move as they transformed and maneuvered. The United States Military and General Motors lent vehicles and aircraft during filming, which saved money for the production and added realism to the battle scenes.

Hasbro organized an enormous promotional campaign for the film, making deals with hundreds of companies. This advertising blitz included a viral marketing campaign, coordinated releases of prequel comic books, toys and books, as well as product placement deals with GM and eBay. The film was a box office success despite mixed fan reaction to the radical redesigns of the characters, and reviews criticizing the focus on the humans at the expense of the robots. It is the thirtieth most successful film released and the fifth most successful of 2007, grossing approximately US$708 million worldwide. The film won four awards from the Visual Effects Society and was nominated for three Academy Awards. It revitalized media interest in the franchise, and a sequel Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is expected for release on June 26, 2009.

Cast

Shia LaBeouf stars as Sam Witwicky, the teenager who unknowingly buys Bumblebee as his first car. The character is based upon the mechanic Spike from the television series, but the nickname was considered inappropriate because the character's profession was dropped from the adaptation.Bay wanted Sam to be an average Joe, and not a geek. He initially considered LaBeouf too old, having only seen his performance in Constantine, but he was bowled over by the actor's enthusiasm. A Transformers fan, LaBeouf also reminded the filmmakers of the young Tom Hanks. He worked out five days a week for three months and gained twenty-five pounds of muscle to prepare for the role, but realized during shooting that his role required agility rather than strength. LaBeouf performed his own stunts, including a scene in which Sam clings to a statue as Megatron approaches, with only a safety harness to protect the actor. "There are action stars who wouldn’t have been as dumb," he joked.

Megan Fox plays Sam's crush, Mikaela Banes, whom he woos with Bumblebee's help. Mikaela is mechanically skilled because her father was a grease monkey and car thief. Fox had previously auditioned for Bay's production of The Amityville Horror. To encourage a tough performance from Fox, Bay often threatened to repeatedly film takes at night so she would appear frustrated and tired.Fox gained ten pounds of muscle during shooting to support the physicality of the role.

Josh Duhamel and Tyrese Gibson play the soldiers, Army Captain William Lennox and Air Force Technical Sergeant Robert Epps, respectively. The characters are part of a seven-man Joint Special Operations Command team in Qatar, who survive Blackout's attack on the base. Lennox has a wife and newborn daughter in the United States. Duhamel and Gibson were fans of the toy line as children, and Gibson paid the filmmakers so he could be in the film. They spent three days in boot camp to prepare for the role. Gibson met combat controller Ray Bollinger, and spent time learning technical terms and military code to make his dialogue sound convincing.

John Turturro plays Reggie Simmons, a Sector 7 agent. Bay wanted Steve Buscemi for the role, but he was busy, so Turturro, whom Bay had wanted to work with ever since seeing The Big Lebowski, was cast instead. Turturro gave a slapstick performance, which was intended to be in contrast to the serious military scenes, so that a sense of fun would not completely disappear. The actor claimed to have based his performance on the director, although Bay stated he couldn't see anything of himself in Turturro's performance. A backstory was fashioned for Simmons, explaining his family had served in Sector 7 for generations, giving him a "mother's boy" personality. Bay cut these jokes as they were too crude.

Surf's Up

Surf's Up is a American Academy Award-nominated computer-animated mockumentary film produced by Sony Pictures Animation and distributed by Columbia Pictures. It stars the voices of Shia LaBeouf, Jeff Bridges, Zooey Deschanel, Jon Heder among others.
It is Sony Pictures Animation's second film, the first being Open Season on September 29, 2006. The American premiere occurred on June 8. It is directed by Ash Brannon (the co-director of Toy Story 2) and Chris Buck (the director of Tarzan). Pre-production for Surf's Up began in 2002.

It is a parody of surfing documentaries, such as The Endless Summer and Riding Giants, with parts of the plot parodying North Shore. Real-life surfers Kelly Slater and Rob Machado have vignettes as their penguin surfer counterparts.

Cast

Shia LaBeouf as Cody Maverick

Jeff Bridges as Ezekiel 'Big Z' Topanga/Geek

Zooey Deschanel as Lani Aliikai

Jon Heder as Chicken Joe

Mario Cantone as Mikey Abromowitz

James Woods as Reggie Belafonte

Diedrich Bader as Tank "The Shredder" Evans

Disturbia

Disturbia is a 2007 thriller film directed by D.J. Caruso and executive produced by Ivan Reitman. It is an updated version of Alfred Hitchcock's classic film Rear Window (1954). Disturbia stars Shia LaBeouf as a teenager who thinks he witnesses a murder when he was spying on his suspicious neighbor while serving house arrest.

Reception

Disturbia opened at #1 in its first week at the box office with $23 million, and it stayed at #1 the following two weeks with $13 and $9 million respectively. As of Sunday August 5, 2007, the film had grossed approximately $117 million worldwide.Disturbia is considered a huge financial success with respect to its small production budget of only $20 million, and talk of a sequel has already begun. However there have been no confirmed reports and none of the cast have signed on.

On the review aggregate website Rotten Tomatoes, 67% of critics gave the film positive reviews, based on 165 reviews, with the consensus that the film is "a tense, subtle thriller with a noteworthy performance from Shia LaBeouf". On Metacritic, the film had an average score of 62 out of 100, based on 28 reviews.

The film earned a "two thumbs up" rating from Richard Roeper and A.O. Scott (filling in for Roger Ebert), with Roeper saying, "This is a cool little thriller with big scares and fine performances." However, many have criticized the change of atmosphere two-thirds of the way into the film, when the initial pacing and action morphs into that of a "run-of-the-mill slasher horror film".

The film won 3 Teen Choice Awards including Choice Movie: Horror/Thriller, Choice Movie: Breakout Male (Shia LaBeouf) and Choice Movie Actor: Horror/Thriller (Shia LaBeouf). It also garnered many other award nominations including a People's Choice Award for Favorite Movie Drama.

Cast

Shia LaBeouf as Kaleb "Kale" Brecht

Sarah Roemer as Ashley Carlson

Carrie-Anne Moss as Julie Brecht

David Morse as Robert Turner

André Benjamin as George Hayes

Raphael Saadiq as Anthony Hayes

Aaron Yoo as Ronald Ryan "Ronnie"

Matt Craven as Daniel Brecht

Brandon Caruso as Greenwood boy #1

A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints

A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints is a 2006 film starring Robert Downey, Jr., Channing Tatum, Rosario Dawson and Shia LaBeouf. It is based on a 2001 memoir of the same name by Dito Montiel, in which he described growing up in Astoria, New York
during the 1980s.

Montiel also wrote and directed the film adaptation, which was released in the United States in 2006, in the UK and Europe on March 2, 2007 and in Italy on March 9, 2007. The DVD version of the film was released on February 20, 2007 in the United States.

The film is partly set in the present, but mainly in flashbacks in the 1980s. The latter parts are filmed with shaky camera with short shots.

Anachronisms

Much of the film was set in the 1980s. However, it was filmed in 2006. Filming began on June 13 and ended on August 1.

A phone booth seen in the background appears to be a Verizon phonebooth. Verizon did not exist until 2000, the owner of the phonebooth in 1986 would be NYNEX.

The movie shows R68s in service. The first ones went into service in June 1986.

The Astoria Line elevated track structure would have been painted beige in 1985. It was green in the movie, as a result of a mid 2000s paint job.

Whiteboards were added to token booths in the late 1990s.

Although the R train running through Astoria was accurate in the 1980s, there were a number of anachronisms with regard to the subway rolling stock seen. The R40 cars seen in the film in 1986 would have been in decrepit shape, covered with graffiti and lacking air conditioning. In addition, the flags seen on the cars were not applied until 2001, after the 9/11 attacks. Although one car has the accurate "two-tone M" logo of the New York City Subway, the "MTA New York City Subway" markings would not be applied until the mid-1990s. Finally, the R40 interiors are noticeably graffiti-free. In 1986, most R40 car interiors were covered from floor to ceiling in graffiti. However, the camera inside the cars focuses on the window scratchitti instead.

Most elevated subway stations in 1986 would have been covered in graffiti. Although clean-up efforts had begun, the subway cars and stations seen in the film would not be cleaned up until around 1988 and 1989.

The film mentions 1986 as the year when most of the childhood drama occurs; however, much of the characters and settings suggests at least a few years earlier, if not more. For example, the girls ask Dito if he is,"rock or disco", a question which would've fit in the very early 80s, though by 1986, disco was long since gone, and rock and dance music were king. "Asteroids" was popular in the early 80s, but was probably not influential in 1986.

The person who Giuseppe is based on is still alive and living in Italy. Giuseppe's story was altered to mix it with a story of a boy they knew named Billy who died in a similar matter. In real life Giuseppe was deported to Italy after being deported too many times.

The pedestrian crosswalk lights are language neutral pictograms which were installed in the early 2000s, the version in 1985 would consist of nothing but the words "DONT WALK/WALK".

In 1985 most buildings would have had TV antennas; in the movie few if any do. Many have cellular antennas. Cable TV didn't exist yet for Astoria and rest of Western Queens. The first customers in Western Queens were hooked up in November 1986.The cellular phone network in NYC was only turned on in July 1984, with only 8 towers in all of the city, making it impossible for any of the cellular antenns/towers shown in the movie to be there in 1985.

Cast

Robert Downey Jr. as Dito Montiel

Rosario Dawson as Laurie

Shia LaBeouf as Young Dito

Chazz Palminteri as Monty Montiel

Dianne Wiest as Flori Montiel

Channing Tatum as Antonio

Eric Roberts as Older Antonio

Federico Castelluccio as Antonio and Giuseppe's father

Adam Scarimbolo as Giuseppe

Martin Compston as Mike O'Shea

Melonie Diaz as Young Laurie

Bobby

Bobby is a 2006 American drama film written and directed by Emilio Estevez. The screenplay is a fictionalized account of the hours leading up to the June 5, 1968 shooting of Robert F. Kennedy in the kitchen of The Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles following his win in the California Democratic Party primary.

Production

In Bobby: The Making of an American Epic, screenwriter/director Emilio Estevez discusses the problems he had developing his script. Suffering from writer's block, he checked into a motel in Pismo Beach where he hoped, free from interruption, he could make some headway with his writing. While talking to the woman working at the front desk, he discovered she had been in the Ambassador Hotel on the evening Kennedy was shot, and later married two young men to help them avoid the draft. Estevez used her experience to mold the character of Diane, and the rest of the story fell into place. The only other character based on a real person is busboy José, who represents Juan Romero, the young man who was photographed cradling Kennedy's body immediately after he was shot.

The character of José has tickets to the Los Angeles Dodgers game in which Don Drysdale is expected to set the record of six consecutive shutouts, but is obliged to work a double shift, forcing him to miss the game. Drysdale did in fact achieve his sixth shutout on June 4, 1968, and was congratulated by Kennedy during the victory speech he delivered just before being shot [2].

The Ambassador had shuttered its doors and put its fixtures and furnishings up for auction during the film's pre-production period, giving production designer Patti Podesta the opportunity to purchase much of the furniture and decorative pieces used in the film.

The hotel was scheduled for demolition one week after filming was scheduled to begin. Estevez got permission to film in and around the building during that period, adding to the film's authenticity.

The film's soundtrack is primarily a compilation of music from the 1960s, including "Tracks of My Tears" by Smokey Robinson, "I Was Made to Love Her" by Stevie Wonder, "Ain't That Peculiar" by Marvin Gaye, "The Sound of Silence" (the original acoustic version from the album, Wednesday Morning, 3 A.M.) by Simon & Garfunkel, "Anji" by Paul Simon, "Come See About Me" by The Supremes, "There's a Kind of Hush (All Over the World)" by Herman's Hermits, "Black is Black" by Los Bravos, "Season of the Witch" and "Hurdy Gurdy Man" by Donovan, "Wives and Lovers" by Jack Jones, "Magic Moments" by Perry Como, and "Pata Pata" by Miriam Makeba.

The two tracks newly recorded for the film are "Louie Louie", performed in character by Demi Moore, and "Never Gonna Break My Faith," written by Bryan Adams and performed by Aretha Franklin, Mary J. Blige, and the Boys Choir of Harlem during the closing credits.

The film premiered at the Venice Film Festival and was shown at the Deauville Film Festival, the Toronto Film Festival, the Vienna International Film Festival, the London Film Festival, and AFI Fest before going into limited release in the US on November 17, 2006. It was released on February 8, 2005 in Hong Kong, and on February 18, 2005 in the U.S. and Canada. It is rated R for violence and demonic images by the MPAA. It also contains mild language.

Box office and proposed sequel

Constantine earned over $230 million in worldwide box office receipts.

Movie producer Lauren Shuler Donner stated in a November 18-19, 2006 interview that writers were developing a script for Constantine 2 and that Keanu Reeves was willing to reprise his role as John Constantine. Donner also stated that Constantine 2 would be filmed in a South American country, and a different director would replace Francis Lawrence who directed the first film. Nevertheless, Lawrence would remain, acting as a producer on the sequel. More recently, Reeves has stated he would not be willing to participate in a sequel of the movie (nor any other), although he did contradict this statement in another interview from the same period.

Warner Home Video announced that the film was to be released on HD DVD on March 28, 2006. It would be one of the earliest titles to be released on that media format. However, following delays to the launch of the HD DVD format (which pushed back the release of many of the initially announced titles), Constantine eventually made its debut on HD DVD on June 6, 2006.

Warner Home Video released a Blu-ray disc version of the movie on October 14, 2008.

There was also a video game of the movie Constantine for PlayStation 2, Xbox and PC. The game was a 3rd person action/adventure game, and it did not feature Keanu Reeves' voice, but a close impersonator.

The Greatest Game Ever Played

The Greatest Game Ever Played is a 2005 biographical sports film, directed by Bill Paxton. The star Francis Ouimet is played by Shia LaBeouf. It is distributed by Walt Disney Studios, and is similar to their other fact-based sports dramas such as Remember the Titans (2000), The Rookie (2002), Miracle (2004) and The Miracle Match (2005). The film's screenplay was adapted by Mark Frost from his book, The Greatest Game Ever Played: Harry Vardon, Francis Ouimet, and the Birth of Modern Golf.
Tag line: Everything begins with a Dream

Plot summary

Set in 1913, the film is about golfer Francis Ouimet, an amateur who was expected to fare poorly at the 1913 U.S. Open, and who was supposedly incapable of competing against professionals. Additionally, to discontinue an ongoing feud with his father, Francis agrees to get a real job and never play golf again. However, after getting a once-in-a-lifetime offer, Francis goes back on his word and competes for the U. S. Open crown. Against all odds, he managed to beat the British champions Harry Vardon and Ted Ray, who were considered the world's best golfers, and become the first amateur to win the U.S. Open.

Cast

Shia LaBeouf as Francis Ouimet

Stephen Dillane as Harry Vardon

Josh Flitter as Eddie Lowery

Peter Firth as Lord Northcliffe

Peyton List as Sarah Wallis

Elias Koteas as Arthur Ouimet

Len Cariou as Stedman Comstock

Stephen Marcus as Ted Ray

I, Robot

I, Robot is a science fiction film set in a world where humans and humanoid robots interact (Chicago in the year 2035). Jane Kaczmarek was offered the role of Eve at Miramax's insistence - over the objections of the directors - but passed and was replaced by the director's choice for the role: Kathleen Quinlan.

Shia LaBeouf had to learn to drive a stick shift for this film.

The test screenings showed that the audience had trouble figuring out whether it was a comedy or a teen drama. Directors Kyle Rankin and Efram Potelle and Miramax were fighting towards the end of post production on what genre it should be. The directors felt it should be a teen drama, Miramax thought it should be a comedy (because it was a marketing genre). Rankin and Potelle eventually gave in and cut it as a comedy.

During the battle sequence in the opening of the movie, the actors playing the German soldiers, including Shia LaBeouf disguised as one, all took lessons on how to speak German properly prior to filming of the scene.

The city of Shaker Heights is a city that borders Cleveland, Ohio.

Cast

Shia La Beouf as Kelly Ernswiler

Elden Henson as Bart Bowland

Amy Smart as Tabitha "Tabby" Bowland

Billy Kay as Lance Norway

Shiri Appleby as Sarah

Kathleen Quinlan as Eve Ernswiler

William Sadler as Abraham "Abe" Ernswiler

Michael McShane as Mr. Norway

Anson Mount as Miner Weber

Hattie Wilson as Principal Holmstead

The Even Stevens Movie

The Even Stevens Movie is a 2003 American family comedy motion picture that debuted on the Disney Channel.
